I was not in the right mood for this book really, it was 100% action packed - which when in the right mood for that kind of thing I would be hooked and raving devouring the whole series in days - I would say a younger audience and most boys/men of any age would love this.

Story is simple but direct like I said before chalk full of action and butt kicking - regular man (who is lucky enough not to be immediately infected and is very skilled at martial arts) suddenly finds himself in the middle of a zombie apocalypse manages to survive, paring up and joining with other butt kicking survivors. Desperate to find out what happened to his wife and kids (he is the only one with any family so no conflict) they set off on a suicide mission through the city

Unfortunately to be a Debbie Downer: no setting, predictable, no character development, nothing overly indepth,

If you can't get enough of zombies add this to your collection, looking for the best zombie read ever? I would try world war Z

I read this story in the collection, From Darkness Comes.

The zombies here are slightly different than usually portrayed - they are fast and they are learning but the violence, and the human response to it, didn't feel real so I had problems losing myself in the story.

The book leads me to believe that something controls the zombies but I have no idea what because this book ends abruptly without answering any of the questions I asked. Unfortunately, this is the first in a series and if I want those answers, I have to buy the other books.
