Young love, old love. Loved seeing how the love stories came together. Family relationships and all the different dynamics.

A woman chases her dream of being a writer and her love for music. All while trying to maintain a relationship. Each chapter refers to a song in which music is deeply imbedded in her history because of her estranged father. Her father has remarried and she struggles to have a relationship with him and find a love of her own.

A nice story that weaves music into the main plot. Slower paced but a sweet story about love, family and overcoming the obstacles that come with both of those.

This wasn’t my usual type of book but it caught my interest enough to take a chance.  Jumps back and forth between two love stories. One couple I completely adored from the get-go. The other I wished you gotten more of both, but it’s just focused on the one  characters perspective. This character could be frustrating in their choices but you eventually could understand why they were that way and started to change.

I’m glad I gave it a chance , it was a lovely story of lost love.
But oh boy… that ending. Caught me off guard though should have seen it coming, and basically I would have been happy if it ended before the epilogue which just doubled down on the crying. I haven’t cried that hard from a story in quite a long time. That was like “the notebook” level crying.  I mean I get it, but reminded me of why I tend to stick to books with true HEAs.

The main character Cecilia was a lot. I found myself constantly thinking "will you just listen to what people are saying????" because everything would have been a lot easier if she just stopped and listened.

The other part of this book was about Sara and Eddie, and that part I enjoyed. Whenever the book focused on Cecilia I was always just waiting for the next Sara chapter.
