Anastasia is trapped in a bad relationship -- her girlfriend things that hitting her is OK, but the BDSM activities Ana craves are "sick" and "deviant." In many ways, I love this book. The relationship between Miranda and Ana is sweet, intriguing, and special. However, half of their problems could have been solved if Miranda had only told Ana that she kept leaving her because her friend was dying of cancer. Instead, Ana thinks she doesn't care, and is especially vulnerable when her girlfriend Peyton tries to manipulate her with bad news from home.
