Great book. Mystery was somewhat predictable but I throughly enjoyed the story and the writing. Will be reading others by him!

It was definitely giving To Kill a Mockingbird, especially the father character; and the fact that the first half of the book was extremely slow. For me it was even less relatable considering it’s a boy’s coming of age story with the cliches of experiences like the sneaking a peek of the neighbor’s bra, first time seeing a naked woman, hearing about sex, first experience with violence etc. Personally I’ve had enough of it.

The later half of the book became more interesting to read at least, and comes with its own slightly predictable twist and turns. Overall it’s a nice story, a bit too religious for me (I should’ve known from the title, my bad).

This was a good book and a nice read. The mystery, whodunnit portion of the book is slightly predictable for me. But I really liked the characters and the sentiment of the story.

Beautiful story that I listened to in audio. I would say a Minnesota “Stand By Me” type of feel. The characters were wonderful, broken, rich. The story was deep, twisted and extremely entertaining. This is the first book I’ve read from the author, and plan to add more into my reading list. Truly enjoyed the timeline, story and era of Minnesota murder/mystery. Try it!
