Every few years I find a book that is a lighthouse in thick fog, a perfect cup of coffee and the softest sweater. A Little Hope should have come wrapped up because it is a gift. Every chapter, every character, every story left my heart mush and my breath short. I fell in love with every character, their complexities, faults, grief, strength. I loved their connections. I nearly skipped a selection this month for BOTM and instead chose this. It most definitely has imprinted my heart and I will absolutely read this one again and again in the years to come. Wow.

Stuck between 4 and 4.5 stars. I loved how all the characters lives were intertwined. Each character was very real and their lives were imperfect. This story was anything but a fairy tale and most of the characters dealt with loss and grief.

“You don’t ever get over that loss. It leaves a scratch in you like a record that never plays right again.”

A little book about the all encompassing feeling of grief. It was definitely sad, yet hopeful (as the title would suggest). Short stories told from multi perspectives are not normally my favorite writing style but I thought it worked well in this book.
