3.5. It's a basic book. Good audio book narrator, easy to follow along.

This was a cute story. I found it a little on the predictable side but I think that come from watching to many movies. LoL.

I did get a little aggravated at they way the main character seemed to just ignore the obvious signs he was given. But I also had to remind myself that this was a kid who has never experienced any of this before so it's a little more believable. An easy read.

4 / 4.5 ! This book was so fucking wholesome, adorable, and heartwarming. There were some very strong characters in this book -- the main 3, in specific.

Micah -- I was rooting for him. Even though he made some questionable decisions, I think what I liked most about him was that he held himself accountable and was genuinely trying to make both Elliot and Grant happy. He was a great protagonist.

Elliot -- WHAT A MAN. We must protect him at all costs. He was one of the sweetest, most caring & empathetic, selfless boys I have recently encountered in a young adult novel. His heart was so huge, and I loved every scene that he was in.

Grant -- Not my favorite character for obvious reasons, but I still liked him! He had a lot of complex emotions going on in his mind and aside from him using Micah, there wasn't anything particularly awful about him.

The overall emphasis on fairy tales made the book so charming and uplifting. The book was incredibly lighthearted, which can be a nice change of pace from the young adult novels out there that focus on some emotionally heavy topics. One of my only criticisms is that I'm not HUGE on stories that have social media at their core, but I knew going into the book that it was a central aspect. Regardless, it was so damn cute and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

We stan Elliot in this household!

A predictable but heart-warming coming of age story. It was obvious that Micah would end up with Elliott but it was fun to see his journey to get to that realization. Seeing that bond form naturally instead of the instantaneous fantasy relationship with Grant showed a nice contrast. Overall the story seemed to be well thought out and there wasn’t any parts that required the reader to make jumps in logic. As much as the cute romance at the end ties up the story nicely I think a stronger ending would be one where Micah ends up alone to show character growth and more internal reflection.
