Loved the story. The idea was great. A little hard to keep track of characters and the "transformation" but it's definitely worth the read.

I enjoyed the presentation of the narrative, the way our understanding builds slowly throughout. However, the conclusion didn't ensnare me the way I think it was meant to, and I do understand why most retellings make the changes they do.

Me gustó bastante pero creo que podría haber disfrutado este libro mucho más si lo leía lentamente. Me lo leí en un día y capaz eso influyó a que no me haya impactado tanto como esperaba.
Tuve dos pensamientos sobre esta novela. Primero la probabilidad de un trastorno de personalidades múltiples en Jekyll. Y también me hizo acordar mucho a la teoría del "ello y yo" de Freud.
La verdad me veía venir el desenlace y eso no me hizo disfrutarlo tanto como me hubiera gustado, pero pienso darle otra oportunidad mas adelante!

It’s easy to see, upon reading this novel, why it is considered a classic and one of the most important works in the terror genre.
I have to say that it surprised me how easy it was to read, how well the language and writing style aged, given how it’s quite an old novel.
It also surprised me how much it had to offer in such a short run. The story felt complex and it created suspense well, while, really, not that much happened and there were just a couple of prominent characters in the whole story.
The plot was definitely interesting, and made me feel anguish at times, it was very well constructed.
In a way, and in order to say something slightly negative, I wish we had seen more of Mr. Hyde’s vices before the big reveal, but I guess that for its time enough was shown.
All in all, I’m glad I gave this novel a go.
