jwells's review against another edition

From the collection of books from Nate. Not bad, but I'm not sure I want two more 400-page books just like it.
I must admit that I don't understand or feel the bond between Seyonne and Aleksander. It seems like the main point of the book, but when and why did it develop? Aleksander learns to be less awful, Seyonne has a sense of duty, then suddenly they are ride or die.
Like The Hands of the Emperor, if Kip got beat up a lot, and his emperor was a bit of a jerk, but they somehow made friends anyway.
