liked it alot. it made me feel like a shadowhunter. was a little boring at times, to be honest, but it was good. it contained a few notes from the characters like they wrote in the book (clary , Jace and Simon )
“Shadowhunter” is not what you do; it is who you are.
What a great companion! It feels like you are a Shadowhunter studying with Clary’s books. It feels reminiscent of the Harry Potter textbooks, without being a direct copy. I love reading Simon and Clary and Jace’s notes to each other. It reads a lot like a text book (because it’s supposed to be one, ok) but the notes and drawings make it worthy of a reread every once in a while.
I think the concept of this book is really cool , love the drawings and the notes in it. I personally took about an hour and a half to flick through and read some of the text, look at the images and the notes. I didnt read it word for word but instead decided I would refer back to it if I needed to. It's not a book thats a must read for the series which is why I've given it 3 out of 5 stars, it's more of a guide to go alongside the books
I wasn’t very impressed with The Shadowhunter’s Codex. Although I didn’t really know what to expect with this book. There was a lot of information crammed into 275 pages. And I found myself bored when I reached the last third of the book. What really made the book was the comments by Clary, Jace and Simon in the margins throughout the book.
