3.5 stars (would have been four, but as it is not a plot-driven novel and actually took some time plodding through, it balances moreso in the middle).
I do believe I've hit the point in my life where I am more than willing to devour anything and anything Shadowhunter-related I can get my hands on (of which there is plenty) and this did not disappoint. Cassandra Clare has developed such an intrinsic and detailed world that getting even a brief glimpse of an encyclopedia-esque book was fantastic. The doodles and illustrations, and use of Jace, Simon and Clary's notes only increased the enjoyment of reading this book, and it was more than interesting to read and compare to what I already knew from the primary novels.
