3.5 stars. It's a field guide to Shadowhunter-ing with comments in the margin from Jace, Clary, and Simon, which was a lot of fun. There's also a lot of gorgeous art inside between the official Codex art and Clary's doodles. If you like the Shadow World, it's worth checking out.

I have no idea how to rate this, to be quite honest. It was enjoyable for the most part, but it did get pretty dry in places. Dry to the point where I'd read five pages and fall the fuck asleep. At 10 am. There were times where it tried to read like a textbook but didn't at all, and it was pretty jarring, and not in a good way.

This does have me wishing for some sort of spinoff where we learn more about the Silent Brothers and the Iron Sisters though. Those two groups are cool as fuck.

Again, no idea how to rate this damn thing. It's like trying to rate an actual history textbook.

This was interesting (one of the most interesting textbooks I've read since Percy Jackson's Greek Gods lol), but it's not a necessary read if you are interested in The Shadowhunter Chronicles. In fact, if you read this before City of Glass, you will be spoiled. So do not. And by the time you finish City of Glass, you have a pretty clear understanding of the Shadow World. By the end I was skipping entire pages looking for Clary/Simon/Jace notes.

This is a book for fans of the mortal instruments universe. Though if you did like the universe without being a fan, but would like some background knowledge, you can still read it. Has some parts which are quite heavy.

It feels kind of strange to rate this one since it is not an actual like fiction narrative story book! But I love this world and the annotations and illustrations made it super fun!

3.75 most of it was interesting and all the side notes from the characters were hilarious, but some sections were really boring, but it was written by the clave so what can you expect.

Zajímavá knížka, pro fanoušky série určitě nutnost, doplní vám to některé informace o Lovcích stínů. Ačkoliv mě mnohem víc než samotný Kodex bavily poznámky Clary, Jace a Simona :D

Omg
This book is awesome. Especially those tiny notes from Jace Clary and simon were so good. I have no clue why people hate it so much. It's such a good read for us-aspring shadowhunters

It was an okay in between book for the series. Some parts were quite boring though so I just skimmed some of it. I liked the handwritten notes from Clary, Simon and Jace, they were funny. Not much else to say about it really
