Endlessly witty and thought-provoking. Calvino's science-fantasy is essential for fans of the genre.
It’s hard to judge this one. I admire his creativity and the clear genius he puts on display throughout, and while many stories left me saying “wow,” some of them were tough reads that I couldn’t wrap my brain around.
My advice: before reading a new story, check back to the introduction where the translator provides more context. That was especially helpful for me.

A collection of little stories about love, the creation of the universe, fate and time. Sometimes I think it got a bit rambly but by the end they tied together really nicely! I think that the concepts of the stories I like as a whole but I found myself skimming certain sections cause they lost me. I'm also not used to reading short stories so I read it in pretty chunky blocks - perhaps the stories and their concepts are best read one or two at a time so you can think about them a lil bit

just absolutely packed to the brim with fun, inventive stories. takes inspiration from general science theory or fact and spins them into gold. sometimes it plays with the medium, sometimes it just presents a magical moment and moves on, sometimes there's a three chapter love story about an asexually reproducing amoeba. qfwfq is an iconic asshole and the perfect narrator. maybe a little jargony for its own good at some points, but i still love it.
