Eep, so sweet! The mom is the best and I love that we also get to see more on the brother and mom's co-worker. Though that dad... seriously dude. *shakes head*

Volume 3 dives a bit deeper and explores the impact of assumptions and stereotypes, especially through Hiroki’s father. It gently touches on how even well-meaning parents can hold onto outdated ideas or make casual jokes that can hurt, without fully realizing it. 💔
The story also brushes on issues like bullying and the way society still treats anything outside the "norm" as something to mock or question.

Despite the heavier themes, the manga keeps its warmth and honesty. It opens space for important conversations while still making you smile. Okura continues to masterfully balance tenderness, humor, and reality in a way that feels incredibly human.
This volume is thoughtful, relevant, and still full of love. Another solid 5 stars!

One of the cutest things I've ever read. This series is amazing. Its a wonderful mix of cute stories with a wonderful truth behind it. The mom is a wonderful character and I feel like it tackles real problems but in a peaceful, educating kind of way. I can't wait for the next.

Tomoko is such a good mom *sobbing*
I loved this volume and the exploration of Hiroki’s happiness and confidence, regardless of who he loves. I also think the conflict Tomoko is experiencing with Akiyoshi and his feelings on LGBTQ+ folks is such an important addition to the story that I’m interested to see unfold further.

The cast of characters is slowly expanding! A neighbor, who probably has a crush on her gay son Hiroki, starts at Hiroki's high school. I like that we are starting to learn more about Hiroki's younger brother Yuri, who at the moment reads like a very aro-ace character. The main tension point is Tomoko's husband, who has some really basic homophobic beliefs and occasionally says shitty things without seeming to realize they might be hurtful. Tomoko is more patient with him that I would be.
