There is A LOT of content in this book and maybe too much for the non-expert. But once you understand the structure of the book, it reads pretty nicely.

The first half of the book was a little difficult with a lot of vocabulary I was not familiar with. The second half was much more enjoyable because I was familiar with so much more of the information. I loved his "stories" and the book is well written. Mr. Brusatte knows his science and presents it in a way as to be friendly and unassuming.
