Nice to see a main not-so-perfect, female character. I enjoyed this book and finished it in a few days.

This is the second book of the Dark Ones series. Actually I didn't realize that until after I finished it and was considering picking up the next in the series that I realized that I have started the series from book 2 and that I did not read book 1. I hate doing this but it was my fault, so now I HAVE to read book 1, I just have to!

Alegra Telford is a summoner from the USA travelling to London since there are a lot of ghosts and paranormal activity there and she has not been successful so far. Although she should be summoning ghosts she has not summoned anything yet and her boss is getting finicky and has already threatened her that if she doesn't change that she would be jobless.
Then she gets the hang of it and starts summoning ghosts here and there.

She meets with the famous CJ Dante, who claims that she is his Beloved, having trust issues of her own she panicks and tries to change his mind.
But love is something that can not be denied and they must unite for them to defeat a very mean demon or else get destroyed.
Will Alegra put her past behind her and trust Christian, or will she turn her back and go back to the USA?

I loved this book, it was fun, fast and so entertaining. I didn't even realize that I was reading the second book in the series since I didn't feel left out. The characters were funny and cute, spacially Christian friends Joy and Roxy they are such a pair you could laugh out loud at there bickering.

Now I'll go start the series proper and read the first book..

I recently delved into "Sex and the Single Vampire" by Katie MacAlister, and I found it to be a delightful journey through the world of romance and the supernatural. Here's a breakdown of my experience:

**Plot (3/5):** The plot weaves a fast-paced narrative with twists that balance predictability and unpredictability. While it follows a basic formula for the Dark Ones books, it manages to carve out its own unique story.

**Characters (4/5):** The main characters are fully developed, showcasing palpable chemistry that adds depth to the narrative. Entertaining side characters, some from previous books, bring an additional layer with their backstory.

**Writing (3.5/5):** MacAlister's writing is descriptive, painting a vivid picture of the story. It strikes a balance between engagement and complexity, offering a well-crafted narrative without becoming overly intricate.

**Entertainment (4/5):** The book proves to be a humorous and dramatic experience, keeping me engaged and entertained throughout. The well-narrated audio book format added an extra layer to the enjoyment.

**Story Engagement (4/5):** I was thoroughly invested in the story, finding it captivating from beginning to end. The combination of humor and drama heightened the overall engagement.

**Amount of Smut (3.5/5):** The romantic elements, flavored with a vampire aspect, were tastefully handled. The content was vanilla, not overly explicit, and it seamlessly added to the romance aspect without overshadowing the narrative.

In conclusion, "Sex and the Single Vampire" is a charming addition to the Dark Ones series, offering a mix of romance, humor, and supernatural elements. While it follows certain genre conventions, it manages to carve its own niche, providing an entertaining experience for fans of the genre.

Another great read from Katie MacAlister. I loved how spunky the lead in female in this story was. I'll definitely be reading the read of the series.

Kurz-Meinung:

Meine Wertung:
4,6 von 5 Sternen

This is sequel to the first "Dark Ones" series, in this book Christian sets out to find his beloved. Instead he gets an overbearing and not in the least what he expected women, who doesn't want him. She is a ghost summoner and during her adventures in London she lands herself into a sticky situation, one in which her Dark One must help her out of.

I didn't enjoy this book as much as I enjoyed the last one. It didn't have the same humor the other book contained. Her sarcastic characters stayed the same but there were no laugh out loud moments. Also the steamy scenes were really nothing more the warm water in my opinion. I just didn't feel what I wanted to feel between Christian and his beloved. Ill give the next one a try in hopes she can redeem herself.
