i enjoyed the hell out of this story, and i haven't loved reading a book that much in a very long time. took me a while, i know, but that doesn't mean i didn't fall in love with weaver's writing and sloane and rowan's journey. their meet-cute was so fucking funny and adorable, rowan is literally my dream man.

i am happy. in love with this novel actually. can't wait for the next two titles to come out!

Woah!! Sloane and Rowan and have the perfect thriller/ mystery relationship. Being two serial killers that *slowly* fall in love as the years go on and they compete to see who can get the most wins during their annual murder games. B&b is a dark romance (hehe), thriller, mystery style book that will leave you wanting more!

I didn’t know too much what to expect with this book, but it is such a fun read. It’s crazy how it’s so easy to overlook that they are literal murderers because they’re killing objectively bad people. So it feels like they are vigilantes in a way, just deranged ones. But either way, even if they were actually evil you still root for them. It reminds me of Joker/Harley Quinn where obviously they are crazy, but also badasses and you’re on their side. When Sloane or Rowan are doing disturbing things literally the only thing I’m thinking is “hell yeah that’s badass”. Crazy how books can make you genuinely put all morality aside. Rowan is SO HOT, and so perfect. Truly a top tier book boyfriend: he’s so unashamedly obsessed with Sloane, he puts in so much effort, he’s funny, puts her on a well deserving pedestal, is so assertive, plans so well, the most caring - GOD literally he’s so perfect. It’s genuinely so endearing and impressive when Sloane kills Thorsten and makes her art- it speaks to impressive writing truly that something like that feels genius and beautiful? I was a little disappointed with the info dump that Sloane drops of her backstory to Thorsten- felt forced and didn’t make much sense she would confess all that especially knowing Rowan is there. But whatever, I still appreciated knowing it, it just didn’t feel natural.

I like that they aren’t true vigilantes where they’re “good guys” like Batman or something, because they get genuine pleasure from murdering people and have “fun” with it. That’s exemplified when they encounter Autumn, they don’t seem to care thaaat much about her beyond wanting her to be free. It wouldn’t make sense if they were able to be the brutal killers they were and also were really kind and compassionate to Autumn. So I really appreciate that we are still reminded that these are fucked up people.

Overall this was so much fun, I literally read the entire book in one sitting. The banter was hilarious. The tension was perfection. The characters were complex, and mature. The spice was GREAT but also not too extreme. It was actually so tastefully done while still being way up there in spice level. Honestly so obsessed with these characters, Rowan especially and I can’t wait for the next books.
