Thoughts/Review
I read this to my kids when they were younger. It is a classic filled with so much imagination and many life lessons and quotes. It gets compared to Alice in Wonderland (rightly so) but is better in my opinion. It is a breath of fresh air still today and I highly recommend reading it to your kids!

Favorite Quotes
- “Expectations is the place you must always go to before you get to where you’re going. Of course, some people never go beyond Expectations...
- “Whether or not you find your own way, you’re bound to find some way. If you happen to find my way, please return it, as it was lost years ago. I imagine by now it’s quite rusty."
- “I never knew words could be so confusing,” Milo said to Tock as he bent down to scratch the dog’s ear. “Only when you use a lot to say a little,” answered Tock.
- ...the most important reason for going from one place to another is to see what’s in between...
- you often learn more by being wrong for the right reasons than you do by being right for the wrong reasons.

(Audiobook) Alice In Wonderland meets The Hobbit! Delightful and highly imaginative read. Perfect as a cross-curricular novel study for upper elementary!! Never underestimate the power of imagination!

Ah yes, truly such a cute and fun book to read! It's filled with puns, personification, metaphors, life lessons, entertainment, and even illustrations. While this is a children's story, it is one that I definitely think even adults would gain value from reading - sort of like Avatar the Last Airbender... But let's not get too sidetracked oops!

Let's talk facts. The book is easy to read, and the pacing is rather quick, so it doesn't feel like a chore to read. Each chapter is very eventful and the main characters accomplish something. The character development is quite nice. The wordplay is elite, and the creativity is certainly phenomenal. I found myself giggling a handful of times, and I found myself trying to think of creative responses to the dialogue as I was reading along, trying to role-play myself if I were in Milo's shoes.

I think the end resolved rather quickly (
Spoilerspecifically the parts where they encounter Rhyme and Reason to just running away, felt too rushed within the scope of the story; it felt too easy and too much just like "uh oh quick let's end the story and save the day"
) but I understand why it turned out that way and can't really suggest a better alternative.

Is there a movie or show based off this book? Are there sequels? I'm certainly more inclined to read more of Norton Juster's works after this. This book certainly could be a fantasy fiction of sorts, and I like that.

Enjoy!
