This is a beautiful memoir of self-discovery and self-acceptance (and an easy read, too!). Truly, self-love may appear and sound like a solo journey especially when situated in disapproving environments for most of one's life, but life always brings up hope in the most unimaginable times and it offers hope in the most lasting ways.
Enlightening and empowering read!

Came across this manga from a random YouTube book recommendation video and really enjoyed the story and art!
When I learned that this is originally a memoir/essay novel, it immediately became an urgency to read it and you bet I freaking did.
I truly loved this!

I read this in one sitting at a Barnes and Noble and was tearing up! The art was amazing, and it's such a great story. Once I finished, I flipped it over and saw that it was based on the author's life. While reading, I sensed that this could be something an individual would go through, and finding out it was a past experience for them made my heart feel so much pain and love. I don't rate memoirs, but I highly recommend this book to anyone, especially those going through a hard time. A few takeaways are there's always hope in terrifying situations, and surround yourself with people who love and accept you. To find this book during pride month made me so happy.
