Continues the story of Emma and Jonah after the cliff hanger of book 4. It was nice having Leesha and Fitch make a reappearance. Also included several surprises in terms of who was responsible for the tragedy and murders.
I am sorry the tale has come to a "end" but maybe......
I am done! After a long 6 months of this series, I have finished it!
I must say that though this was an interesting book, I would not recommended it to infrequent readers as this requires a bout of dedication and time that most do not posses.
These last two books in the series had more of a horror vibe than the three for urban fantasies. Fans of beautiful created might find this clichéd yet oddly original tale of a boy with a deadly touch and a girl with a knack for music.
My biggest dislike for this last book fell upon the utter change of pace towards the end, the predictability of the finals, and the number of loose ends that were not tied up.
My biggest enjoyment: the realism in its own setting. It did not end as happily ever after as most would like. But, this detail felt refreshing to me, given that most tales these days seems to surround the "true love wins out in the end" theme.
All in all, an ok book. But, I must say, somehow my overly nostalgic self did not find sadness in the ending of this novel, leaving me to wonder if these small unpleasantries will only grow over time...

The Sorcerer Heir picks up closely to where The Enchanter Heir left off, and it does wrap up the major questions from the previous book and about the Thorn Hill Massacre. There were some surprising revelations and the final section was action-packed. However, I don't think the final two books were quite as strong as the original three. It was nice to see old characters appear and get an update on the politics and societal structures of the magical world.

Good conclusion to the series, I couldn't put it down for the last half of the book.
