Had to take a break from the fantasy and go back to the trigger warning romance books and this one didn’t fail! Looking forward to the rest of the series

The twists and turns that this book gave me were so crazy that I had to reread some portions to make sure I read it correctly. I loved the tension that is between Hook and Wendy!

Wendy loves her father, or the father she use to know. The one that stands before her is different, his indifference is what tears her up, this one leave her to her own devices and leaves her to raise her brother Jon.
One night Wendy agrees to go out with the girls to a club in town called the Jolly Roger. There she catches the attention of a dangerous man and owner of the bar, James or as many know him Hook.
James has be bidding his time to take revenge on the man that has caused him so much pain, Peter Michaels.
James couldn’t believe his luck when one night Peters daughter walks into his club. Now that his revenge plan is coming together the only question is, what to do with Wendy Micheals.

“But I regret, with every fiber of my being, that for even one moment you suffered under my hands.” Her eyes widen, the beautiful shades of brown glossing over. “You are, without a doubt, the only good I’ve ever known.” I rest my forehead on hers, my shaky breaths ghosting across her lips, my thumb rubbing against her cheek. “So don’t lie to me, Wendy darling. Because my heart won’t survive it if you do.”

This was a good book. I liked the reimagining of Peter Pan. I liked how the author used the fairytale names we all know and played with time. This was 4 stars and 3 for spice.

Hook is not a good man, but James is somewhat different he lives for and loves Wendy when he thought he heart was long broken. A lot of his actions are questionable but once he develops feelings for Wendy he can’t let go.
