What a very, very unsettling story. I didn't know what to expect, and I'm glad I went in with no expectations at all. That book was quite unique. The writing is beautiful and sucked me in, made me want to know what exactly was happening, and I stayed on the edge of my seat from the start and until the very end. A very good discovery.

It’s best to go into this knowing practically nothing all you really need to know is that this book is beautifully written and very awesome and here’s why you should read it. The two girls telling the story are complex and unique and even though their the ones telling the story there not who its about, the three girls story’s are beautifully tided together the intriguing narrative is excellently done, its also my favorite thing about this incredible book. The ending is pretty much flawless it is very confusing but once I wrapped my mind around what was happening I loved it although it is very strange and it might be a little to strange for some people. I intend to read more of Nova Ren Suma’s books and hopefully they will all be just as unforgettable as this one

Artistic, scary, totally captivating. Beautiful writing about beautiful (and terrible and heartbreaking and heartbroken and lying and true) girls. Suma's work is always magical and always stays with you, but this is her most well-crafted novel yet, imo.

OMG OMG OMG OMG SO SO GOOD. Heavily influenced by Shirley Jackson. I am thrilled to have read this.

Early on in this one, I realized it probably wasn't for me. I'm not big on magical realism, the writing felt repetitive, and the layout of the story had me flipping back and forth to try and keep things straight.

But that plot. Man, that plot.

The Walls Around Us packs a lot of heart into a story that is so nontraditional in its telling, and the ending left me very satisfied with where we leave our main characters. The spiderweb entangling these girls is thick and mean, and I really did end up enjoying the book overall. It's a weird one, for sure, but I'm glad I finally got around to picking it up.

I loved the writing, and the suspense kept me reading. I figured out most of what was going on around halfway, and the middle was pretty slow, but the ending did surprise me. I really liked that conclusion, although there were a lot of unanswered questions.

I found this book confusing and hard to follow, but an interesting idea for a story.
