Very, very slow burn. Touted as a spy novel but there is very little action and the book feels more like a history lesson on early man. None of the characters are likeable and there’s really no one to root for.

Chapters too short, I never felt immersed in the world. Too mysterious also, not enough plot or character information to draw me in. Felt like I was being held at arm’s length the whole time.
