This book has the most insufferable prose I’ve ever read, like the idea of a coherent sentence structure is the very thing the author is compelled to rebel against. 
I genuinely don’t understand the hype of this book.

a well written, rewardingly intellectually dense thriller, that thoughtfully unfolds in an intriguing manner. this had me in a chokehold- esp how gender roles & identity were explored through use of a female protagonist against stereotypical-male-stud-spy behavior & mentality.

Everything about the subject matter was up my street, apart from Neanderthals about which I knew very little, but i do t mind being educated by fiction. Having struggled to the end, i now know a whole lot more about Neanderthals! But yeah, perhaps because of the monotone reader on the audiobook I was often bored.
