Ok, so Rachel Kushner. There were aspects of it I liked. But the middle was so noir and lifeless. I didn’t like the main character at all, until it was clear that she was connecting to Bruno’s ideas. I like the general theme— communal living, working class Europe, the debates it contains about how to make a better world, but ultimately too dark.
