loved getting a lil novella from cardan's POV. only wish it had been longer. the illustrations were a nice touch. enjoyed aslog and her retelling of the story of the boy with the wicked tongue and his stone heart. only made me appreciate his and jude's relationship even more. enjoyed learning more about him and nicassia's relationship.

Short novella, not necessarily essential to understanding the plot of the Cruel Prince Trilogy. In fact, I felt like most of the details had already been revealed in some capacity. I thought it would bridge a gap more between the Cruel Prince Trilogy and The Stolen Heir Duet but it really didn’t. Mostly just a brief history of Carden’s childhood.
