The poems were difficult to read, but the stories weren't. The stories were almost all very sad though. The happiest two were when an abused orphan finds a new home, and when a pauper who is going to hang himself decides to live. Not a very uplifting read, but it was cool to experience some of the landscapes and culture of Iceland. Almost no female writers or characters.
