This book was so long and boring. The first 200 pages were very excited, but the next 1000 were just a complete slog. Characters were shallow and uninteresting. I found this to be very disappointing.

Even though it was about 1,700 pages long in my ebook version, it never felt dull and I couldn't wait to read what would happen next! The protagonist is a compelling character because at times you sympathize with him, and at others it's much harder to condone his actions. He blurs the line between hero and antihero in a subtle and fascinating way. Also Eugenie has big queer energy!
