Books are like crack to me, but damn, this one was the big true deal. Nearly walked into walls, forgot to get things done, missed parts of shows, just to continue to read! So excited for the next in the series!

Totally loving Jill Shalvis and her humor. This is definitely one of those girly romance books where boy meets girl and has commitment issues but I found it heartwarming and enjoyable:)

I’ve missed reading a yummy Shalvis rom. Characters are great. Romance ignites. HEA worthy.

The sole survivor of a fatal bridge collapse, Katie Kramer resolves to live her life “balls out” from now on. Determined to live her life traveling from one adventure to the next, Katie finds herself heading from Los Angeles to the Sierras, where she takes a temporary job at Wilder Adventures as the office manager. Living in one of the Wilders’ cabins, Katie wakes up one night to find a mysterious, sexy stranger claiming she’s in his bed.

After a terrible accident took away the life he once knew, Cameron Wilder left his home in Wishful, California to travel. Now home once more, he wants nothing more than to get some sleep. So when Cam finds someone in his bed, he’s none-too-pleased, even if that someone is a gorgeous “Goldilocks.” Though they get off to a rough start, passion and a thirst for excitement soon draw Katie and Cam closer together. But will their unwillingness to put their hearts on the line bring their newfound relationship to an end, or will two wary souls risk everything for what could be the greatest adventure of all?

Get ready for a fast-paced, meltingly sexy, heartwarming romance. As wild as the hero’s name suggests, Instant Attraction grabbed my attention from the get-go and didn’t let go until the very end.

Cam and Katie were characters you can’t help but fall for. Each has been through a traumatic, life-changing accident which left its mark on them, and each deals with it in their own way. I admire Katie for opening herself up to new experiences, to living her life “balls out,” as she is fond of saying. As for Cam, his withdrawing from the life he loved is understandable, given what he went through. I was captivated watching Katie draw him out, getting him to not only survive, but to truly live once more. They were a perfect fit, each being exactly what the other needed, in life, in bed, and in love.

Not only did I love Cam and Katie, I became extremely attached to the rest of the Wilder family. I loved the subplot of Cam’s aunt Annie trying to work things out with her husband, Nick. I was every bit as invested in their troubled relationship as I was to Katie and Cam’s growing one. As for Cam’s brothers, Jill Shalvis has made me incredibly impatient for Stone and T.J.’s stories. And given the sparks that began to fly the minute Emma was introduced, she and Stone are bound to heat up the page in the upcoming Instant Gratification. Filled with characters I adored and not one, but two romances I was invested in, Instant Attraction charmed me from the first page to the last, leaving me fully satisfied and hungry for Ms. Shalvis’s next Wilder brother tale.

Reviewed for Joyfully Reviewed.

FTC Disclosure: I received this book for free from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

I liked the premise, woman who was lone survivor of a horrific bridge collapse and world class athlete recovering from a career-ending injury.

Another recommendation by Sarah Wendell of Smart Bitches. I liked it, and was undecided about giving three or four stars. But I skipped some pages and was a tiny bit disappointed by the second Romance in the background (the married couple who is in trouble). So three it is. I liked the heroine who after a horrible accident decides to live her life differently, to seek adventure and take risks. I found her very relatable and loved that she fit in with the ski and adventure resort where she works as an office temp for a month. It is nice to see that a city girl finds respect and warmth among mountain people. I admired her gut, her honesty and her eagerness for life. I wish I was more like her. The hero is nice enough, too. But I read the book for her.

Katie led a boring life in LA when she was in a horrific bridge collapse, being the only survivor. She's now taken to the road to see what adventure she can fine. That search led her to Wilder Adventures, where she's working as a temp for the month and hopefully sampling some of their adventures. Then she meets Cameron, one of the Wilder brothers, who's back home after a year of wandering. He had his own accident when he bit it on a snowboarding run and damaged his leg so badly, he almost lost it. So, when he gets home, he's surprised to find his very own Goldilocks sleeping in his bed.

I've been reading Shavis's newer books and liking them. So, I picked this one up. It had a newer cover and I found it was the first of a series. I just finished a book I didn't like, so I thought this would be a super light, easy book to clease the reading pallette. But it was pretty awful. The dialogue was bad. There was no real tension or plot. The female characters were all bad and the male ones not much better. I think I'll just stick to newer releases from this author because this one....was not good.

Jill Shalvis definitely doesn't disappoint with the start of this series! I loved Cam and Katie and the journey funding each other!! I can't wait to read the next one!!

This wasn't a bad book, but it didn't have the same tone as the Lucky Harbor books. It's very much mired in tragedy, but it is also about surviving those tragedies. I didn't like Cam much, it was as if he couldn't let go of his former lifestyle. I did admire Katie, though, and her desire to have adventures so that she'd have a full and happy life for those that had died. The book had interesting secondary characters, that was an obvious suggestion that they'd be the "stars" of the next books, though the situation with Nick and his wife was a bit tedious at times. All things considered, I'm looking forward to the next book!

There was a ton of buildup then it just ended. Kind of disappointing.
