The writing style of this book was just painful! It was like they had to meet a page minimum. You could have easily cut out half of what I read and made the same point.

I started the ebook and struggled to get into it. The audiobook, however, is very well done. Highly recommend the narration.

It was a weird combo—part hijinks and heist, part… soul searching? I dunno. It was weird but I had a good time

It's difficult to decide if I liked the book because it's difficult to decide if I liked David. I did find myself (mostly) cheering for him, though.
At first I thought the book was interesting. I love a good flash forward and then a how-we-got-there but then it went to Weekend at Bernie's and all the crime show I watch and when does rigor mortis set in? The main character REALLY wants to fall in love and will jump from one love boat quickly to the next to keep hope alive never checking how deep the water actually is by himself, a total Carrie Bradshaw. He makes bad choices and Stacy is supposed to be the put together voice of reason and somehow my brain conjures up Juno the case worker in the original Beetlejuice movie. So I started skipping ahead and reading snippets but ultimately decided to just stop. I think it might be more romantic comedy then mystery thriller, I mean we know who done it. And then to write a book about it also gave off OJ vibes. But as I read this review a younger person would have absolutely zero of these references and it would be a totally different read. I will say it read very smoothly, my brain was adding the bumps.
