I Might Be in Trouble by Daniel Aleman – Stacy is one of the most well-constructed, complex women written by a man I have ever had the pleasure of reading! I was so totally invested in this insane plot that every twist had me gasping and clutching my pearls. If vacillating between cheering for David and wanting to shake him is your favorite way to treat a main character, then you will also love this story! In between the family drama, covering up crimes, and giving me more reasons not to start drinking, this book also managed to be a love letter to New York City and the power of writing.  A super quick read, but it was not at all what I expected. This is marketed as a dark comedy murder mystery but it's really a character story about self-discovery. It was also a smidge too self-aware and meta for me, it kept pulling me out of the story. Would probably make a great movie though.
