The definitive translation for the modern reader.

I found this read somewhat interesting. The book reminded me of George Washington's book on Rules of Civility except that it came from a Roman emperor many years prior. The "meditations" come from an emperor who was against Christians but had created a strong government in Rome at the time. Obviously coming from a Pagan, the book isn't the best to follow, although some ideas are noble. I read it for the historical aspect.

reading Marcus Aurelius Meditations will ground you. As someone who is more all over the place adding a dash of stoicism to my life seems very necessary. Definitely a big picture/meaning or life kind or book. Highly recommend

I liked this when I was 19 so it probably sucks
