Morning coffee read:

I believe it was my 5th time reading this book and every time something new pops out to me.

“All those people who came into the world with me and have already left.” This had me thinking about my birth year. In 1987, there were roughly 3.8 million people born and 95% are still alive. I’m one of the lucky 95% 🙏

It's important to remember that my boy Marcus probably didn't want this book being published. He definitely didn't want it to be called Meditations.

What he did want was a personal journal detailing the difficulty of his life, and his thought process in dealing with that heavy Roman crown.

It's also important to realize that he isn't a philosopher (at least not in the traditional sage sense), but he is a person applying philosophy. For this reason, he uses situations that could still be used today, and he relates to purposes that will still be used in the future.

Pretty good book. A little overrated, because internet people think he's a god.

You do not read this book in one sitting. You read it again and again, a page or a line or two at a time.
