Logomania, am I right? Somebody get this guy a supreme box logo shirt.

I am not sure what I thought I would get out of reading this. Maybe either a sense of wonder at how much things have changed, or catharsis by finding some common ground with someone from so long ago. Instead I found myself with a great sense of unease.

A lot of the books felt uncanny, and it had me wondering if we really aren’t capable of change even alongside evolving environments and social structures. If there is someone 2000 years ago who I think with some wording swapped out could pass for someone writing today, what is to say that someone 2000 years in the future couldn’t think the same.

I think I would’ve preferred human experience to have changed with the world, and if it were for better or worse it be due to our actions, but I am left thinking that maybe it doesn’t have much consequence.

A hundred years or three.… no difference.

Life-changing. A must-read for all men. A great introduction to Stoicism and philosophy as a whole.
