Archer's an ultimate soft boy <3 but I had some issues. 3,5/5!
I came into this book expecting a lot because of the raving reviews this book gets. And maybe my expectations were too high but I did not enjoy Archer's Voice as much as I wanted to. But first, let's prise it. I really loved Archer as I character, his struggles were real and I could relate to him in a way. I thought his character arc was very well executed. He's the type of character you root for because he's a genuinely good person - a good person who's been given a shitty hand in life. I also enjoyed his romance with Bree, they were cute together, and I loved how supportive their relationship was.
Now, to the bad. While I like Bree, I couldn't shake the impression that she infantilized Archer a lot. It's one thing to be protective of someone, but a lot of the times the way she spoke or thought about Archer insinuated to me that she believed he couldn't do anything on his own, that he has to be supervised by her or someone else so she can be sure he's ok. I also got tired of Bree calling Archer "a beautiful man". I get it, he's beautiful on the inside and on the outside but you don't have to repeat that every single minute. I also cringed when she called him "a sweet/beautiful silent boy" (see: infantilization). I also didn't like how Archer was presented as this man who's completely cut off from the outside world. I get that he's a loner, and he has reasons to be one, most of them are psychological wound from the past but that doesn't mean he cannot know how to use a phone or have an idea how society works!
My last gripe with this book is the very last chapter and the, in my opinion, a cheap way of playing with the reader's emotions SPOILERS: making the reader believe that Archer's dead and that they are about to witness his funeral, especially after having them witness his journey of healing, and then being like SIKE! he's alive, got ya!, was uncalled for and in bad taste. I really didn't like this. I would prefer for that last chapter to make it very clear from the beginning that Archer's in a coma but healing. END OF SPOILERS.
So long story short, I enjoyed it, especially the personal journeys of both Archer and Bree but I had some issues that stifled my enjoyment.

The story line was interesting, but the writing wasn’t very good. Weirdly paced, a lot of repetition, and a lot of conversations and situations that would never happen in real life
