This book deserves all the hype that it gets. It was beautiful. I read it straight through and had difficulty putting it down. I smiled, laughed, swooned; and cried. The ordeals that the two main characters endured was heartbreaking. I am so very happy that Archer and Bree got their happy ending.
This was an interesting read. I really enjoyed the premise of this book. The main character was a kind and genuine person, she is running away after suffering tragedy and is starting over in a sleeping little town. It is an unconventional romance and I enjoyed that part of the story. This is a spicy read, so reader beware.
Archer’s Voice by Mia Sheridan
I’m going to be in the minority here but hear me out.
This book started out just ok. We got a good feel of the characters, plot, where they lived, etc.. Girl experiences massive trauma then is magically healed just from meeting a man one time? She just so happened to casually speak sign? The constant “you are mine” feel was cringey. The middle is where I struggled- it was over the top ooey gooey cheesiness. I rolled my eyes so hard I had a headache. The last 100 or so pages? Good. I enjoyed it. Could it have been shorter? Absolutely. There was so much repetition.
My favorite part of this book was Maggie and Norm. They took Bree in when she first moved to town and showed her so much grace and love, and treated her like she was their own daughter (granddaughter? Who knows.)
2 and 1/2 stars. Meh.
