The second book was just as good as the first. It’s actually a little bit better. Learning more about Maximum’s background give whole new light to his character. Seeing how the backgrounds of the two effects their relationship is great. The constant tug of war of good and evil!!! All new mythology and its sexy!!!

This one picks up directly from the first book Blood of Zeus which I love when they continue on so you know exactly what has already occurred and what to look forward to next!

This series went so far off the plot. Nothing really happens in the second book either for their relationship, or finding out anything about the past. It's just a bunch of PR that culminates in an abduction. The first wasn't even good enough to have me overlooking how bad the second is to read the 3rd.

I just finished Heart of Fire and I can’t wait until May.

We get more Maximus and Kara and I love the relationship that they are building together. We learn more about Maximus, his mom, and his family. On the Kara front, they spend more time in the spotlight while waiting to see how their relationship is going to disturb Hades.

Just when you are enjoying Maximus and Kara’s time together - don’t let your guard down. You won’t believe what’s coming your way.

Love, love, love their story. Can’t wait too see what Book 3 brings us.

[I received a digital arc for an honest review]

"Because nothing can ever compare to you. This. Us."

Heart of Fire
is the second book in the Blood of Zeus series by Meredith Wild and Angel Payne. This is a continuous series, and you need to read book one before this one. Therefore, my review will be short and spoiler free.

In the second installment of Blood of Zeus, Maximus and Kara are trying to come to terms with the revelations that ended book one. The Valari's decide that thrusting them into the spotlight will keep her safe from the repercussion of her actions. Yet this may just put Maximus into danger himself.

Heart of Fire
is filled with outings for the paparazzi, some sweet moments for Max and Kara, and some explosive intimate scenes between the two of them. It's also filled with Gods (pleasant and not so pleasant ones), demigods, demons and all the chaos that these individuals bring with them.

The Blood of Zeus series continues to bring undeniable passion along with a new modern take on Greek mythology. It's exciting to find the parallels and similarities to well known myths and the way the authors bring them to life.

"A thousand little moments that twined our souls, tighter and tighter, until I couldn't imagine giving myself to anyone else."

Felt like very little happened in this book. No character or plot development until the cliffhanger. Will probably try the next book and hope it takes us somewhere, because I like the characters.

Kara and Maximus move forward in their relationship. However, Kara’s mom, Valerie, seems to want to take control of their social life. As Maximus learns more about his father, he also learns more about his uncles, and that’s not necessarily a good thing.
Opinion
Yet another cliffhanger ending. The build up to it was extreme and had me turning pages quicker than Usane Bolt can run the 100. I’m not sure that I can wait for the next book but undoubtedly I must.
Many thanks to Bare Naked Words for providing me with an ARC of this book.

I hated that this ended on a cliffhanger.
