Zorrie is a beautiful example of quiet kindness and continuing to move forward, despite tragedy, sadness, loneliness and disappointment. Written in lovely prose, this novel is reflective and thought-provoking. Meant to be savored - a quick read would not do it justice.

I felt a warmth from reading this book which made it quite a pleasant read, it felt very poetic and poignant at times.and I enjoyed the main character.

A bittersweet story of the triumphs and sorrows of life, and how we try to pick the pieces up after the sorrows. The friendships we make along the way that dampen the sorrows and amplify the triumphs.

What a lovely and quiet book. The story follows Zorrie Underwood throughout her life in rural Indiana in the 20th century. She lives a simple and quiet farm life and you are transported along for the peaceful ride. There’s some death (and a miscarriage) but it’s not a morose book; it simply follows the joy and hardships of life. It’s only 176 pages and I absolutely loved it. Perfect for fans of Wendell Berry or Claire Foster.

Periods of life are set by the people we know, not by what we have done and are doing. Zorrie is great reminder of that.
