Total page turner
This was one of the better, more entertaining college romances that I've read in awhile. I really enjoyed it and thought the characters were great and likable. It certainly didn't lack in the sexual tension between the two main characters, which I loved. Definitely a book you'd want to check out (imo of course). ;)

I started this as audiobook and whilst I enjoyed listening to it to start with, the story somehow dipped and my ability to pay attention ran out to the point I didn't want to continue reading it. The hate to love is my fave trope, but somehow I felt it fell flat, probably due to the weak plot.

I'm actually really pleasantly surprised. I went into this book with no expectations and extremely low standards. A lot of books I've been picking up lately have been crap: Horrible writing and/or insta-love-- no thank you. So I wasn't expecting much, even skimmed over the beginning of the book cuz I expected it to be bad. But then I actually got into it and enjoyed it.
There was no insta-love...the relationship actually progressed really nicely. There was definitely attraction but neither characters were immediately consumed with it, so it was bearable. What I don't like is that there were hardly any side-plots and side characters. Both main characters have like one friend and the whole book is dominated by Ivy and Roan's relationship. I'm not a fan of books that only focus on the romance and not anything else. I definitely think added plots and characters would've made this book a whole lot better.

Problematic stereotypes abound in this one. I kept thinking it was going to get better... and it did not get better.

This was a pretty light, low-angst romance book. This was my first Jennifer Sucevic, and it looks like it may have also been her first book. I thought the book was good, but not shout it from the rooftops great. It was solid, I liked how the relationship between Roan and Ivy and how we got to see a friendship develop and intimacy not related to sex. I did think that the third-act break-up was a little annoying, and wished these two characters would just talk to each other!
Personally I feel like at least 30% of this book was just describing how hot the ‘king of campus’ is. Probably could have been shortened and tweaked to become a better/more enjoyable book.
The concept of the book is good but the execution is where it falls flat. I wouldn’t carry on reading the series as I regret adding to my TBR.
