Hokey as it may be to modern readers, I read this originally in 1989 and it transports me instantly back to that time whenever I reread it.
A teen angst ghost-story, it still leaves me with a happy feeling when the boy gets the girl in the end.

The first story was decent. The other two were pretty bad and unneeded. If you ha e the trilogy, I recommend stopping after the first book.
The nostalgia!!! I loved this book when I was young, and it didn’t disappoint me reading it again as an adult.
This was hands-down my FAVORITE Christopher Pike book. I still have images from some of the scenes, and I still think about it!
The sequels, if I remember correctly, were not nearly as good and were kind of... weird.
Hm. I think this one is definitely a re-read for me!

So for this book I have three separate ratings...(Disclaimer, I will be adding some spoilers so..) For book 1: Remember Me, I would give it a 4.5 -5 stars because it was really well done. I liked the concept of the story line and how the progression took place throughout. I really enjoyed reading from the main characters point of view. I found her really funny and interesting. I did enjoy getting to know the other characters such as Daniel, Shari's boyfriend; Jo her best friend; Beth, Daniel side hoe; Jeff, Peters brother and Amanda, Jimmy's girlfriend. I liked how their personalities didn't change as much after Shari because it was interesting to know the people you talk to and hangout with can be so shady. I hated (in a good way) the fact her boyfriend gave no fucks to Shari even after her death. Beth is just a hoe. No shocker there. Jeff is a okay character even though hes going through a lot, I just wish we got to see him open up more about hes feelings towards the death Peter. It would've been cute if he open up his feelings with Jo cause, I ship! I like Jo cause she is a quirky character and I connected with her about ghost/paranormal stuff. I found Amanda quite odd from the beginning to the end. It made her the "outcast" of the group. Like I found her awkward and didn't know how to talk to them. I absolutely adore Peter. I thought his character was beautifully written. Peter's death was shocking/terribly devastating that I legit cried. I was really shocked about how it ended. I didn't see it coming but I did. Like I started to think that Amanda was involved with Shari's death but i didn't expect her to be Jimmy's actual biological sister and that she was obsessed with him. I thought this was a good plot twist to the book. I liked how the book didn't make things to obvious and made you think and consider who murdered Shari Copper. So overall, I really loved reading the first part/book of the Remember Me Series.
For book 2: The Return, I would give it a 3.5 stars because I liked the concept of Shari being able to come back to earth in a different body. I didn't like how the girl she ends up being in physical form died nearly the same way as Shari did. I thought it was to cliche. I did like how she had to rediscover herself as Shari and also Jean throughout a couple chapters in which I thought was pretty interesting. I liked how we got to investigate more of Jean's life, For example we got to know more about her friend Carol. We got to see her relationship with her mother. I enjoyed reading about the plan that Darlene was making to get revenge on Juan about killing her boyfriend. I thought that was a interesting add to the story line. I did but didn't expect Jean's boyfriend to be involved in Darlene's boyfriend death and the balcony collapsing on them because 1) the boyfriend is always accused of something happening to their girlfriend and 2) he's psycho for doing it because he thought that Jean was sleeping with Sporty (the boyfriend of Darlene) and that she was pregnant with his kid. I was shocked that he ends up killing Garrett the detective but I didn't like how we don't know the aftermath of Garrett's death. But overall, I liked it but not as much as I like the first one.
For book 3: The Last Story, I'm giving this a 0 star rating because it wasn't necessary to be part of the Remember Me Series. I felt like this book was written poorly and that it made no sense. I didn't like how it abandon a lot of characters that should've been in this book. It abandon Jean's mother so we don't know what happened with her and we don't know the whole aftermath of what happened at the apartment building. We don't know what happened with Carol, her friend. She was basically left in the dark. I didn't like how there wasn't as much backstory to Jo as well and I didn't like how this book threw Jimmy and Jo together like...I didn't even know she had feelings for Jimmy? I thought she was going out with Peters brother Jeff.. (side note: I find that they should've mention him in this book because Jo was interested in Jeff and in the first book, they were hitting it off pretty well...so I was curious of what happened next after that night.) I really didn't care for the whole book writing bits because I found it really boring and to me it wasn't relevant to anything. Also I really didn't care for the whole movie production minus the whole setup between the actor Bob and Jean. I thought that was kinda cool and different from the last two books. (Bob wanted to kill Jean the same way she wrote in her book/movie First to Die) I was okay with the whole Rodger being a black wander, thought that was different and cool...but the thing I hated about this book was the ending.. like wtf was that?? She dies??? like it defeated the whole purpose of the second book. I'm sorry but it was soo shitty that it ruined everything. After everything shes been through, she ends up dying again after stating that she didn't want to leave again and didn't want to leave jimmy and peter... so stupid. Overall, I hated it and it should've been in the series. The series would've done better with the 2 book.

I only read book one out of the three in this version . It was a remember this book from high school idea. I didn’t remember the story and then it all came back at one moment. I enjoyed it knowing who the villain was. I did wonder what I thought when I was a high schooler reading about possible suicide- murder - death etc. wish I reviewed and noted books back the. What I thought then. Christopher Pike and RL Stein were the authors of my teenage life. Fun to read back and explore what interested me then.
