Mystery, murder and women ruling the world… I ate this book up. Let me live in 1920’s London for a day and drive around in Niven’s car. I’ll wear a green hat.

Normally love Atkinson’s books and this was beautifully written but dull and with way too many characters.

What a joy to immerse myself in this book! I was torn between gulping it down, or putting it down so it would last a few more days. My partner must have felt very ignored that week! Kate Atkinson is such a great storyteller, the characters just came alive and were a very human mix of virtue and vice (often in the same person). It was witty and exciting, but also sensitive and thought-provoking. An unusual ending too, tying up loose ends in a fast-forward style. Absolutely recommend this!
