Wasn’t sure about the book in the first bit— seemed like a lot of unnecessary worldbuilding around the town the story takes place in. But as I continued, the book turned into a gripping story that called into question internet culture and true crime trends. So refreshing to read from an author that understands the internet in a native way. I hope the right people find this book, critics weren’t fair to it!

An incredible, uncomfortable, horrifying dissection of the true crime genre and its “fandoms.” A must read for anyone who consumes true crime.
