Isabel has returned to the town she fled years prior. Her life may seem like it is perfect and she has everything going for her, but it is all smoke and mirrors. Logan is a firefighter, has known Isabel for years, works with her brother and has been burned by women in his past.

I liked Isabel. She wasn’t afraid to take on a task and had no problem with getting her hands a little dirty. She loves helping people and you can feel the joy that brings her coming off the pages. I loved seeing her growth and her confidence grow throughout the course of the story. Logan was frustrating at times, but I couldn’t help but love him. He was letting the past get in the way of his future, but he was also protecting himself. However, he is caring and protective.

The chemistry between Logan and Isabel is hot enough you’ll need to call the fire department and I couldn’t get enough of the two of them together.

I can’t wait for more of this series and getting to know more about the men in the firehouse.

If you’re looking for a friends to lovers romance this is one to check out.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and options are my own.

Sad to say I wasn't as obsessed with this one as I was with book one. This one left me slightly disappointed. In this book we follow Logan and Isabel. I thought both of them were hard for me to connect with and some of the things they did really bothered me. I’m understanding of both Logan and Isabel’s past issues but I thought they were a bit extreme at times. I didn't understand why Isabel had to hide behind the myth of her success the way she did and I found that Logan was unnecessarily harsh and judgmental when it came to Isabel. I just wasn't totally in love with this book and that makes me so sad since I loved book one.

Smoke & Mirrors is an emotional story of two people from troubled childhoods who grew up together but haven’t stayed in touch as adults. Both are resilient but have coping mechanisms that keep them from truly letting others in. Can they open up and trust each other?

Isabel and Logan are flawed but relatable characters that I found myself rooting for. They have sizzling chemistry, friendship, and undeniable draw to each other. Both have good hearts and good intentions; they deserve a chance at true happiness together.

I love this firefighter community. The women welcomed Isabel with open arms, and she fit in like a missing piece of a puzzle. The men look out for each other and their loved ones.

I would definitely recommend this emotional firefighter romance.

You know it's going to be a great day when you get mail from Skye! I dropped my current read so I could read this one and I devoured it in one sitting. Logan is total perfection! And this cover.... Wow!

Smoking hot firefighter ✔ Animal lover ✔ Heart of gold ✔ Logan will probably be my favorite for being an animal lover! I mean... a puppy can only make a man even more irresistible!

Book 2 in the Forged in Fire series brings in Logan and Isabel. The chemistry between them is great! Isabel is cheeky and independent. Puts all the big bad firefighters in their places and tells things exactly how she sees them. Just don't ask about the last 5 years. Breaking into the fashion world hasn't been kind to her. She's back home to lick her wounds and figure out where she wants to go from here. But then her old world shows up on her doorstep and she knows it's all about to come crumbling down.

Oh Logan, Logan, Logan. You loveable sexy man you. I knew I was going to love you even more reading this book.

When you get an unexpected blast from the past, it will force you to deal with the demons you didn't even know you had.

Logan and Isabel's story is one of friendship, overcoming your past and learning to live in the now.

If you are looking for your next one sit read look no further! I really enjoyed this book. I loved Logan and Isabel together! If you like your romances on the steamier side, this one won’t leave you disappointed. This is a true standalone in the series. You do get the characters from the previous book, but you won’t feel like you are missing anything from the story line if you read this one first. I can’t wait for the next book! This is book I would definitely recommend.

Received a arc for a honest review.

Isobel returns to her hometown with only change to spare after the betrayal of her ex and a disappointing career in New York. Unwilling to share her humiliating failures as a fashion designer with her brother and her best friend Logan, she keeps her reasons for returning a secret.
Logan has been attracted to Isobel since high school and now that she's back, nothing's changed. But he knows she's hiding something from him and he despises lies. But when her past catches up to her, can he really turn her away?
I love the continuation of this series. I love how the firefighter family is so close and the whole small town feel to the book is great. I was able to review the first book in this series as well and I can't wait for the next one!
I received an advance review copy of this book through NetGalley for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

The second book in Ms Jordan's Forged in Fire series did not disappoint! We saw Logan in the first series book ([b:Flashpoint|56703627|Flashpoint (Forged in Fire, #1)|Skye Jordan|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1610960120l/56703627._SX50_.jpg|87873919]) and with what his ex put him through there, I was really glad to see him get his own book already. (If you haven't read that book yet, no worries--you do eventually get the details about what happened so you're not too lost ;))

Isabel is Tucker's sister--she grew up with his teammates Logan and Cole, and Logan was actually her *first* (in a let's-not-go-to-college-as-virgins pact) so there's definite second chance romance vibes going on here. She hasn't been 100% truthful with her brother since she left to try to break into the fashion world in NYC, though, and her deception could get her in trouble now...

I really liked the chemistry between Logan and Isabel. Neither of them had a great childhood--both sets of their parents were anti-examples for healthy relationships--and Isabel's need to protect her secrets and Logan's need to not be lied to were definitely going to be a source of contention between them when the truth comes out (which we all know is going to happen). I liked how they resolved things (like grownups!) and 100% believed that these two crazy kids were going to be able to make it in the end.

Oh, and did I mention there's a puppy! The firehouse menagerie continues to grow, and I AM HERE FOR IT.

Now don't mind me, I'll just be sitting here patiently waiting for book 3 to come out :)
