This book has me clamoring to read the sequel. As a man in his mid 30's, reading the story from a 17 yo teenager was incredibly infuriating. But I really think it speaks to the talent of this author to craft a story so perfectly. I spent the entire book yelling at the mc to just talk to someone outloud, while simultaneously hurting for the pain and suffering she has endured.

The story starts off a bit slow as the author slowly builds out the world and the characters, which I found incredibly helpful as there is a lot to take in. The world building itself is great and I'm truly excited to read more.

Honestly one of the best books I've read so far this year and you should definitely pick it up and give it a try.

Where was the fated mates? That's the only reason I was reading this book, was like 50% of the way through, and did not see it.

2/5, DNF.

The sci-fi fantasy story I didn't know I needed.
With the upcoming release of The Mark of Dreams and Darkness, I wanted to give this book a chance and I am so incredibly thankful I did.
I heard amazing things about the audiobook, so I listened to the audio and followed along in the paperback. The story alone was absolutely incredible, but the narrator somehow brought even more life to this creation. Cover to cover, this story is filled with fantastic world building, magic, aliens, and plenty of action packed scenes.
Terrific story telling from this author. Highly recommend!
