I'm not usually one to like a book with politics of any kind in it but this one was different. I was so wrapped up in the story that I really didn't pay attention to the fact that there were quite a few political aspects to it. It was a little slow at the beginning but all of the information was interesting. It was cool to get so much of the history from the book in the way that it was presented.

The story starts with a young boy finding a mass burial dating back to the civil war. Then journalist Charlie Barrow, on what he says was a relaxing trip turns a different way. When his journalist instincts pull him into a run for his life. He meets some friends along the way that try to help him unravel the mystery and keep each other safe. Will this story be too much for Charlie to handle?

I liked Charlie Barrow's character very much but his curiosity and determination to do his job kept getting him in trouble and almost killed. Carlito was an interesting character that didn't let being a dwarf stop him from doing anything. He was probably my favorite character. Elena was good too but I thought her and Charlie were a bit weird. It seemed to happen out of nowhere. They met and then suddenly she was kissing him and talking about going further.

This book is a wild ride with a lot of corruption and mystery. It is totally worth a read and I highly recommend it.
