Damn Zig. You get it girl. You owned yourself in this book and watching you show your family to stop putting you in a box, HELL YES.

And Seb...worn down secluded and sad Seb. He needed to get out of his own way and finally allow himself family.

I love the two of them together.

Yikes. This is the most heavy handed expository book I've read by Chloe liese. She's never great at showing over telling, but this took it to a whole new level. I love that her books include feminist and progressive men and feature disabled and neurodivergent characters, but where was the editor? The entire book is her capturing two drawn out internal monologues of these characters in which every single plot point is told to us without finesse. I blame the publisher. Someone needs to enroll this sweet lady in college writing workshop STAT because these books are getting worse and worse. I also found Ziggy's characterization to be a little too childlike for it not to be uncomfortable to see her as a grown adult and sexual being. There is lots of tickling and nose meeping and infantalizing mannerisms that just made it uncomfortable to then listen to sex scenes about. This book was just not a winner. In contrast, I loved the Willa & Rider book, with the Rooney and Axel one following close behind, so I know what she's capable of.

Love, love this series! Maybe because of the Swedish connection. Definite cause of how contemporary it is, the fact that is about an entire family. The characters are well rounded, the stories compelling one to continue reading without pause. Cannot wait to find out about the journey of the last sibling to find romance! April 2024 cannot come soon enough!
