It's always the same: a morning arrives in November, and my friend, as though officially inaugurating the Christmas time of year that exhilarates her imagination and fuels the blaze of her heart, announces: "It's fruitcake weather! Fetch our buggy. Help me find my hat."

It was a sad short story but beautifully written. I am truly inspired by his writing and love this short story and the House Of Flowers. This short fiction was truly the meaning of Christmas because it wasn't about the gifts. It was about the giving and the love. The old lady and the 7 year old boy had a terrible life but still found happiness. Great read.
