You can still love someone that you've decided not to speak to anymore. You can still wish them well and hope for the best for them. Choosing a life without them doesn't mean you stop caring about them. It just means that you can't allow them to harm you anymore. But if you don't think your life would be better without them in it, then accept that they have cracks. Try to understand how they got them and help fill them with something that isn't ice.
Graphic: Mental illness and Abandonment
Moderate: Panic attacks/disorders
Minor: Vomit

“Am I the asshole?”
🛶 First person Dual POV
🛶 Guardian to younger siblings
🛶 Travel nurse who can’t stay in one place

🛶 Insta-chemistry / fate

🛶 Found family
🛶 ALL the acts of service, ‘mundane’ demonstrations of love 🥹

🛶 MC Growth: trust, risking a relationship, childhood trauma, past relationship trauma, self worth, abandonment/avoidant attachment
🛶 Considerate representation of mental illness
🛶 Epilogue
🛶 On my comfort reads list 😍

Every action in the book is character lead and makes sense for the character.
Emma was very relatable, and her attachments to people make a lot of sense with how she grew up. Amber was written very respectfully too, and I liked how her character was written. She isn't someone to be forgiven but she's someone to understand.
Justin was real sweet, and he was a great guy and had his layers and issues. I liked seeing his relationship with his mum was complex, where he loved her but was also angry with her.
Justin and Emma's chemistry was really great and I really believed in it.
The book was quite funny too! The stuff with Justin's mum and Leigh in the car actually tickled me lol
I always love when Abby's like THERAPY'S GREAT!!
Graphic: Child abuse, Emotional abuse, Mental illness, and Abandonment
Moderate: Panic attacks/disorders, Toxic relationship, and Death of parent
Minor: Vomit and Fire/Fire injury
