This sucked me in so quick. I loved Justin & ached for Emma & I loved the strength of Maddy. The whole thing hit me in all the feels.
It's not on my bookshelf yet, but it's definitely going on my wishlist.

This was my first Jimenez book, and I couldn't put it down. I was looking for a nice summer romance book, and this one delivered, and we still got so much character depth. Also, I love Justin so much. Help.

You can still love someone that you've decided not to speak to anymore. You can still wish them well and hope for the best for them. Choosing a life without them doesn't mean you stop caring about them. It just means that you can't allow them to harm you anymore. But if you don't think your life would be better without them in it, then accept that they have cracks. Try to understand how they got them and help fill them with something that isn't ice.

“Am I the asshole?”

🛶 First person Dual POV
🛶 Guardian to younger siblings
🛶 Travel nurse who can’t stay in one place
🛶 Emma and Justin are cursed. Everyone they’ve dated, and broken up with, has found their soulmate immediately. So why not try dating each other for a few weeks, break up and meet their own soulmates? If only it were that simple.
🛶 Insta-chemistry / fate
🛶 Slow burn / tension 🔥
🛶 Found family
🛶 ALL the acts of service, ‘mundane’ demonstrations of love 🥹
🛶 A heart-aching representation of a daughter breaking herself, and denying herself of happiness to put her mother first in the hopes that she will love her back. Beautifully written.
🛶 Well established secondary characters: Alexis & Daniel (Book 1), Brianna & Jacob (Book 2), Benny, Brad, links to characters from other series
🛶 MC Growth: trust, risking a relationship, childhood trauma, past relationship trauma, self worth, abandonment/avoidant attachment
🛶 Considerate representation of mental illness
🛶 Epilogue
🛶 On my comfort reads list 😍
🛶 I sobbed. In the best way.

Available on Kindle, Audible, and paperback.

⚠️ Toxic relationship (family), mental illness, parental abandonment, death of a parent (past), medical content (FMC is a nurse), PTSD, anxiety disorder, childhood trauma/neglect.

ykno what I ate it up

Every action in the book is character lead and makes sense for the character.
Emma was very relatable, and her attachments to people make a lot of sense with how she grew up. Amber was written very respectfully too, and I liked how her character was written. She isn't someone to be forgiven but she's someone to understand.
Justin was real sweet, and he was a great guy and had his layers and issues. I liked seeing his relationship with his mum was complex, where he loved her but was also angry with her.

Justin and Emma's chemistry was really great and I really believed in it.

The book was quite funny too! The stuff with Justin's mum and Leigh in the car actually tickled me lol

I always love when Abby's like THERAPY'S GREAT!!

This was such a fun read! It finally got me back into romances 💕💕💕. I will say the end felt a little rushed and I was surprised at the lack of diversity despite the author being a woc, it was disappointing. However, the book was really well paced and the two main characters were fleshed out and their connection was super believable! I recommend if ur looking for a summer read

abby jiminez the woman that you are…this book is a work of art. emma and justin’s relationship, personalities, backstories, and everything in between is so unique and addicting to read and get lost in. personally I would shelve this book in fiction as sure this book is about a relationship and it’s romance but if you’re looking for smut and don’t care much for the plot this book isn’t for you. this book is all plot and character building and I loved every second of it. ‘just for summer’ is in my top 5 reads of all time, finished it in a day. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
