I thought I wrote a review for this book but apparently I didn't, which is a bummer because I absolutely loved it and I wish I had written this when my thoughts were fresher. But regardless, this is one of my favorite Abby books so far. I just love this universe (I spent four years in Minneapolis, so I'm sure that's part of it), and Emma and Justin are so, so endearing. Emma and Justin both have really complicated lives and family trauma, and I appreciated that it wasn't like love conquered all of their demons and they just leapt merrily into the sunset; they really had to work through their own stuff to make sense of their own relationship. The lake and the houses were so vivid, and I just loved living in this book.
The interaction with Daniel from Part of Your World was so unexpected and so fun, and it made a lot of sense to me.

This is my first Abby Jimenez book.

I had NO IDEA what i was getting into, and i can honestly say i was not disappointed ONE šŸ‘šŸ» BIT šŸ‘šŸ»

This is a cute love story between Emma and Justin, that unfolds into topics of childhood trauma, ptsd, trust, commitment, and family.

I love that the characters were easy to identify with, and fall in love with (except Amber, and Maria).

I love that the author used a lighthearted topic of live to dive into heavier topics, i think that it was done beautifully, and those references of trauma, ptsd etc never seemed out of place.

I LOVE the writing style and the fact that thereā€™s 2 POVs.

I love love love how the book ends, the resolution of the plots, the characters growth, the fact that all side plots were addressed. It was just perfect. Thank you to Abby for not leaving the side characters without some sort of an ending to their stories!

I donā€™t think there is anything i didnā€™t like in this book (Iā€™ve just put the book down so it might come to me later), but for now, solid 5āļø!

This book is really pretty. I like the way the male and female main characters are written and the plot of the story. I donā€™t know why it took me so long to make connections to the other two books, but when I did, everything made so much more sense. I loved the way the story circled back in on itself to make all the other books connect to this one. I felt a connection with Emma because mom-trauma and I understood her deep desire to fix her cracks. I donā€™t know how anyone picks a favorite from this series ā€” theyā€™re all so good in different ways. None of the stories are alike, and lots of romance authors have a set recipe they use for a book that makes them all similar, so I found that really refreshing. There was a little spice but again, not too much. I think all of Jimenezā€™s books have so many nuggets of wisdom and truth about love, family, and relationships. I canā€™t wait to read more of her work.
