My friend picked this book up at a romance bookstore. Neither of us read romance novels, so I wished her the best and laughed. She then read the book and was pleasantly surprised. She also mentioned that the author tackled some difficult topics. I was very surprised with the story.

I thought this was going to be a very typical “easy read” but it had more depth than I expected and I loved it! I loved the side stories of the two main characters.

Bounced between 3 and 4 stars because I hate the modern miscommunication trope. But characters were well-flushed out, flawed, and lovable, so we land on four stars. Good summer read.
