Andrea Hannah shows promise as a writer with flow, action, and character development. This story, however, ended up predictable and couldn't hold my suspension of disbelief to make it otherwise.

Be prepared to scream. Just when you think you know what's going on, the story twists again. Suspenseful is a gross understatement for this novel. Pull you in, grab you and hold you captive is a much better way to put it.
I felt the book didn't start off as a great five star read. It takes the author a bit of time to hook you, but once you hooked there's no going back. You must read it, devour it till its last page. It will make you shiver in all the right spots. A great read for fall. Its a curl up by the fire type of book.

There aware some strong opinions in the reviews but I'm sort of half and half. I don't know if I loved or hated the book.
The writing was very descriptive and sometimes I felt that slowed the book which I found incredibly frustrating. I got to the point in some parts where I started counting the number of similes per page. And you know what they say, if a reader notices it, you've done it too much. I also noticed a couple times that words were back to front (I.e. I went the to shop) or there was an extra word but this is the editor's fault, not the author's.
The story. I get others saying that it was quite confusing at times but given it was written from Claire's POV, it was understandable. I did find that confusing though. However I could see what the author was trying to do and appreciated her efforts. I think others saying it's annoying that she blamed it all on mental illness at the end is a bit unfair. Claire's mental illness was woven throughout the book, glimpsed between all the the similes, so it was a reasonable conclusion.
I just don't know. It's giving me a headache trying to decide whether it's a yay or nay. I will probably avoid future books by the author so I don't have this level of confusion again.

Claire Graham is haunted by the wolves that hurt her sister, the wolves that no one else believes in. After being sent away after the tragedy, Claire returns to her small-town home carrying two things: the bird her sister Ella made for her, and the baggage of intense guilt and fear from the wolves. She returns because her sister has disappeared, and she is positive that the 'wolves' have taken her. As Claire searches for her beloved sister with her friend Grant, the wolves haunt her- and threaten to take everything away from her.

Of Scars & Stardust was beautifully written. It painted such clear (and sometimes haunting) images, it let you into Claire's mind.
I was constantly on the edge of my seat, needing to keep reading as much as possible. It was very suspenseful, never a moment of rest, but it did not exhaust me either (which was good writing, I think). I connected to the characters and could not quite guess who was what and what was real. It was a guessing game, a guessing game in which I loved the main characters and was submerged in the wintery world they lived in.

The ending was very slightly disappointing, it was a little weird and I feel like it was supposed to be a set up for a second book, but for the most part the ends were tied up. I was a bit confused. But it was all worth it.

This is the type of book that will keep you up at night- from wanting to read more, not necessarily because you are so scared you can't sleep (I kind of really hate those books, so this was a really nice alternative). It was intense and incredibly written. I loved it.

Fans of YA who enjoy a mystery, a psychological thriller, with a tiny touch of a love story will like this.

I have to say that I absolutely adore this book. I couldn't out it down. I only picked it up yesterday and flew through it. Andrea has done a fabulous job and though I know there is no sequel planned, I would love to read one. absolutely enthralling.

I have to admit to being immediately drawn to this book because of its title and beautiful cover. I was intrigued when I read the synopsis. When I started Of Scars and Stardust, I was immediately drawn into the story and raced through it. There were parts of the story that I found incredibly frustrating and the ending wasn’t as rounded as I would have liked, but I still think Of Scars and Stardust is decent mystery/thriller that’s worth checking out!

Of Scars and Stardust is a very eerie mystery/thriller with quite an unreliable narrator. Claire’s sister mysteriously disappears not long after she was brutally attacked. Claire has to make a decision about whether to go back to her hometown or keep herself away. She needs to work out whether she’s going to face up to the memories of the night when her sister was attacked. Claire’s been told that her beliefs about what happened to her sister are delusions, but Claire’s not so sure…

I really liked Claire has a character, but I’m not so sure that I trusted her throughout. I felt for her when she discovered her sister and empathised when Claire suffered after the event. Throughout the story, I wasn’t sure if the wolves were real or not but I certainly felt Claire’s fear. The scenes were incredibly vivid.

I was impressed by this book, and I’d definitely read more from this author in the future. Of Scars and Stardust was a creepy, mysterious read!
